Decision Criteria

Obstacle Clearance

  • 30 ft safety bubble around launch
  • 50 ft horizontal from obstacles
  • Cell towers and power lines are critical hazards

RF Safety Margin

  • C2 link must be 15-20 dB stronger than interference
  • Margin = (C2 Budget) - (Interference)
Reading a scan

The critical interferer is the strongest signal nearest your C2 band. A GPS L1 jammer at 1575.42 MHz denies autonomous flight on its own, regardless of margin elsewhere.
