The LF Literary Circle is a modern-day Book Club that delves into the heart of conflicts, philosophy, stoicism, and history. We read books that challenge us. From new to old works, we seek wisdom. We learn how these books shape the modern mind. We value mental strength, moral choices, and knowing our history.

"1984" by George Orwell remains a compelling and chilling exploration of authoritarianism and the erosion of individual freedoms. Today, as we navigate a landscape of pervasive surveillance, data privacy concerns, and political polarization, Orwell's cautionary tale feels eerily prescient. The novel's depiction of a society where truth is malleable and dissent is crushed resonates with current debates about misinformation, media control, and government overreach.
Reflecting on "1984" prompts us to critically examine our own world and the fragile nature of democracy in the face of unchecked power.
Ray Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451" is a dystopian novel set in a future where books are banned, and "firemen" burn any that are found. The story follows Guy Montag, a fireman who becomes disillusioned with his society's anti-book stance and starts questioning the purpose and impact of his role. Through his journey, Bradbury explores themes of censorship, the power of knowledge, and the consequences of a society that suppresses critical thinking and intellectual freedom.
