Who you are buying from

Quote your order number when you write. It looks like LFM-XXXXXX and it is in your confirmation email.

Shipping united states and canada

We post by USPS Ground Advantage, which is tracked and insured. Shipping is a flat rate per order, shown before you pay, and charged once however many items you buy.

How soon we post depends on what you ordered, and the store says which on every item before you add it:

If we cannot meet the window we stated, we will email you, give you the new date, and you can wait or cancel for a full refund. That is your right, not our favour.

Canada. We post from the United States, so your parcel is an export. We charge you no tax on it. Your own country may charge you GST or duty, and the carrier may add a handling fee, when it arrives. We cannot collect those for you and we cannot predict them. It is worth knowing before you order.

Zines and merch final once posted

We are a small publisher. A print run is paid for up front and a returned zine cannot be sold again, so we do not take returns or exchanges on printed goods once they are on their way to you.

Before we post it, you can cancel. Email us and we will refund you in full, within seven working days. That holds until the parcel is dispatched, and it holds on a preorder for the whole time you are waiting.

If we send the wrong thing, that is ours to put right, and so is the paragraph below.

If your parcel is lost or damaged

Tell us first. Do not start with the carrier. We will deal with USPS ourselves, because we hold the proof of mailing a claim needs and it is our job, not yours.

Then you choose: a replacement, or your money back. If the title has sold out we will say so plainly rather than keep you waiting on a reprint.

There is one deadline we cannot move. USPS will not consider a claim more than 60 days after a parcel was posted, so:

Workshops

We run a workshop each quarter. Eight seats are sold. Two more people can go on the list, and we do not charge for a place on the list. If a seat frees up we email the next person on it a link to pay, and the seat is theirs when they do.

A seat is not refundable. We buy supplies, book ground and turn people away to hold your place, and that is spent well before the day.

If you cannot make it, your seat rolls to the next quarter. Tell us at least 14 days ahead and there is no charge to move it. A seat can be moved once. After that it is used, and someone who does not turn up has used theirs.

If we cancel or move a workshop, you choose: take the new date, or take a full refund.

Workshops are physical, outdoors, and in a group. We will tell you what to bring and what the days ask of you before you commit. Come honestly: if something would make it unsafe for you or for anyone else, say so and we will sort it out.

Payment

Card payments run through Stripe. We never see or hold your card number. Your statement will read LIGHTFIGHTERMANIFESTO.

Prices are in US dollars. Tax is added at checkout where we are registered to collect it.

Privacy what we keep and why

We collect what an order needs and nothing else: your email, your name, and your address if something is being posted. We use them to take the payment, send the parcel, and tell you it is coming.

We do not sell your details and we do not share them, except with the two parties who have to handle them: Stripe, to take the payment, and USPS, to deliver the parcel.

The Dispatch is a separate thing. You are on it only if you asked to be, and every email carries a way off it.

How long we keep things. We keep the financial record of an order, meaning the amount, the date and the order number, for seven years, because tax records require it. We delete your shipping address twelve months after delivery, because after that it does nothing for you or for us.

Ask us what we hold about you and we will tell you. Ask us to delete what we are not required to keep and we will.

What our writing is, and is not

We publish educational material. It describes, explains and documents, and it cites its sources so you can go and read them yourself.

It is not instruction to do anything unlawful, and it is not professional advice. What you do with what you read is yours, and so is knowing the law where you live.
